Online Access to OMEGA (UNIX  & Linux only)

Note: In case you are behind a firewall, please read the Firewall instructions.

The Omega user interface requires Mozart 1.2 to be installed on your computer:

  1. Download the Mozart 1.2 package.
  2. Unzip and untar it with   gunzip mozart-*.gz   and   tar xf ....
  3. Enable Oz applets in your web browser. The ozengine resides in   mozart/bin/ozengine
Note: For mozilla, you need to specify the pure path to ozengine without the trailing " %s"!
Warning: Oz applets are insecure in the sense that they can execute any command on your machine under your account without asking you.
The applets on the pages of the domains www.ags.uni-sb.de and www.mathweb.org are designed to avoid security risks.
However, the authors do not give any warranty for security and they are not liable or responsible for any damage done by any Oz applets!
See the OMEGA Public License for information on the use of OMEGA and for a disclaimer of all warranties, and then...

Tip: To avoid unnecessary downloads, you can save the "Click me!"-applet on your hard disk (Shift+LeftMouseButton, or "Save link as ..." in the context menu) and then run it from a shell:   mozart/bin/ozengine loui.oza

Please note that OMEGA is still under development and that this is a beta-version.We would be grateful for any comments and reports on bugs (send e-mail to: omega@ags.uni-sb.de)

You may also want to try the developers' version.
